He is a trustee for the Hudson County Bar Association, a member of the American Association for Justice, and former president of the Garden State Bar Association.

Attorney Freeman is a former deputy attorney general for the State of New Jersey. He has served as a legal commentator on WWRL's radio show, "Legally Speaking", and has been quoted in local newspapers including the Jersey Journal. He is a frequent guest speaker at local colleges and universities, addressing students with an interest in the law.
